| Notes for Elphya Anna Rauber |
Elphya was 13 years older than her husband Wesley M. Bliss (Sr.).
Her father was a cigar roller.
Someone among the Raubers may have been Jewish. Elphya may have been concealing it. We have found no evidence of Jewish affiliation, other than the fact that Mildred's second husband appears to have been Jewish.
Given that Elphya's younger borther Roy was born in Plymouth, Iowa in 1892, we must presume that Elphya lived in Iowa for awhile. Where exactly? There are three Plymouths in Iowa. Still, it's plausible that the Raubers may have travelled from Wisconsin to Iowa sometime between 1887 and 1892, then moved to Texas, and eventually California (no earlier than 1920?) |
