Notes for Duncan Cameron
"In the summer of 1816, two months after his marriage to Sarah MacDonnell of Glengarry, Scotland, he left for the New World, landing at Quebec. He went from there to Glengarry, Ontario, according to one record [6] in 1820, and remained there until 1840, the year in which his first wife [7] died."
Misc. Notes
The following statement almost implies that Isabella was John Cameron's mother, but carefully avoids making the implication:

"Mary married John Cameron son of Duncan Cameron who married her sister Isabella who was called "Auntie Grandma", because she was aunt to Mary`s children, being a sister and Grandma to the same children, being the wife of the father of Mary`s husband; they moved to Minnesota and she died July 5, 1890"
Misc. Notes
One of Christy's obituaries states that she moved to Wisconsin in 1846:

"Mrs. Chrysta Johnston was laid to rest in the Wrightstown cemetery Sunday May 1. Chrysta Cameron was born March 15, 1831, at Glengarry, Canada, and was the daughter of Mr. amd Mrs. Duncan Cameron, who came from Glengary, Scotland, in 1818, where her mother died when Chrysta was 9 years of age. She with her father, came to Beaver Dam, Wis., in 1846, where she was married to William Johnston in 1848, when she was 17 years of age."

The Camerons were in Beaver Dam by August 18, 1847:

"John Chisholm II , had a very checkered career . At one time he owned a great deal of land; in 1820 he deeded a piece to his son Rory, in 1825 he deeded a piece to his son Alexander, (the Burnside farm), and in 1836 he deeded his farm to his two youngest sons, Angus and Duncan, and in a letter he wrote in 1858 said that this farm could then be sold for fifteen or sixteen hundread pounds. Some of his descendants say he went to Eastport, Maine, in 1839; he was evidently in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, in 1847, and his son Angus and wife, for a letter from John Cameron, his son in law, to his father, Duncan Cameron at Beaver Dam dated August 18, 1847, he said: " The descendants in Antigonish say he walked from Minnesota back to Salt Springs, bring in his pockets wheat which was sown in Antigonish; as the Camerons only moved from Wisconsin to Minnesota in 1854, he must have been away from home many years. He wrote a letter from Salt Springs, July 20, 1858 to his daughters and their husbands addressing the letter to Duncan Cameron, Rushford, Filmore County, Minnesota, U.S. and in that letter told that he was living alone, in poverty, but being supplied with food."
