| Notes for Olof "Ole" (Olsson) Norland |
World Family Tree Vol I spells his birthplace "Sveag, Sweden".
Was working on a farm in Duvberg (near Overberg) when he emigrated, via Trondheim, Norway and Bergen, Norway.
He and Sophia appear to have immigrated in 1868. |
| Misc. Notes |
| In the 1900 Census in Tompson Twp, page 246A. There is also a Peter Norland on this same page. Peter and wife Catrina had been married 34 years, with 11 children (6 living). They immigrated in 1882 (18 years previous), and were naturalized citizens. Peter appears to have been born in Sweden in June 1840, and Catrina was born in Sweden in March 1846. Could it be that Peter was a fourth Norland brother? If so, he would have been Erick's brother. Erick was known to have had two siblings. |
