Misc. Notes
Old tombstone, in photo dated Sep 1959, seems to say: "BRIDGET wife of MICHAEL DONELIN ... Kilmore County of Clare Ireland, APr. 11, 1839 DIED ..."
Misc. Notes
The IRI (1997) report that there are 55 townlands named 'Kilmore', none of which is near "Miltown Malbay", though there is a Kilmurry nearby. There is a Kilmore (in Kilmurry Parish) not far from a townland named 'Miltown' in Tulla Parish on the Eastern side of County Clare. There were 8 Carmody households found in the "Bunratty Lower" barony of Kilmurry Parish. The report doesn't say how many Kilmores there are in County Clare (of the total 55).
Misc. Notes
There were CARMODYs in Palmer, Brookline, and W. Roxbury in 1860. There was a Patrick CARMODY in W. Roxbury, and an Ellen CARMODY and two James CARMODYs in nearby Brookline (which is enclosed in Suffolk and Middlesex Counties). There was also a James DONLIN in W. Roxbury and five DONLAN listings in W. Roxbury and Dorchester.

Though there were CARMODYs and DONLINs in Hampden County, the CARMODYs were in Palmer, and the DONLINs were in Springfield-Chicopee (actually DONLON, DONLAN, and DONELIN).

Massachusetts Census, 1790-1890:

1860 CARMODY DAVID Hampden County MA 717 Palmer
1860 CARMODY MARY Hampden County MA 734 Palmer
1860 CARMODY THOMAS (2) Hampden County MA 734 Palmer
1860 CARMODY THOMAS Hampden County MA 734 Palmer
Misc. Notes
Carmodys in Grant Co, WI:

Wisconsin Census, 1820-90:

1855 CARMODY JAEMS Grant County WI 004 Lancaster
1860 CARMODY JAMES Grant County WI 339 Lancaster
1860 CARMODY JULIA Grant County WI 340 Lancaster

1860 CAMRODY THOMAS Grant County WI 462 Millville
1860 CARMODY PATRICK S Grant County WI 463 Millville

The Culkins and Culls are said to have been related to the Carmodys by marriage to Bridget's sister Catherine.

1860 CULKIN THOMAS Grant County WI 461 Millville
1860 CULL MICHEAL Grant County WI 462 Millville
1860 CULL JOHN Grant County WI 463 Millville
Misc. Notes
According to Claire Sweeney, Bridget had a niece named Catherine who married a Mr. Culkin and a Mr. Cull. Note that there were Culkins, Culls, and Carmodys in Millville, Grant County, WI in 1860. None of these surnames was in Millville in the 1870 census. Since the photo that the Donlins had of Catherine was taken in the early 1900s, it would appear that the Donlins were in touch with Carmody relatives at that time.
